Weekend Recap: Prepping for Fall
I know, I know, technically it's not fall yet, but in my own little world it is! While some people are still craving that summer sun, I want nothing more than for it to be sweater weather! This past weekend was family weekend at my school, but instead of the fam coming here, I decided to have a weekend away at home to relax and recuperate!
Saturday was pretty overcast and
rainy, but my mom and I had planned on going apple picking so you better
believe that's what we did...after grabbing brunch of course! Our favorite
brunch spot is about 15 minutes away (which is very dangerous), and every weekend
the menu changes to use ingredients that are in season and can be bought
locally! This weekend we went for the cranberry walnut french toast!
After brunch, we headed out to the apple orchard!
Apple picking is one of my absolute favorite activities to do in the fall. The
combination of driving to the farm, wandering through the orchards, and
admiring all the knick-knacks in the little shop makes me so happy! It rained
pretty hard before we got to the orchard so I got to break out my Hunter boots
which I was pretty excited about, and with a little luck the rain held off and
we were able to get a TON of apples! After the picking was over we stopped at
another little farm that has a cute store with lots of fall/Halloween
decorations and I got to pick up a couple festive pieces to hang in my dorm
room!
XOXO, Em
